Foundation Four:
Meditation, Presence, and Spiritual Realization
________________________________________________
Realizing one’s spiritual essence (and true nature) through a clear and sincere practice of meditation and presence.
This foundation involves a dynamic, engaged, and informed practice of meditation, and the cultivation of presence. These practices lead us toward a true awareness of self, and a shift in our identity from our conditioned, limited, and ever-fluctuating, human identity (lived through a mind-made version of ourselves) to our true identity and the radiant splendor of our true self.
This foundation is supported by an understanding of the principles of meditation and presence, by the regular practice of meditation, and by one’s sincere effort to consciously abide in his/her own presence or “I Am” (and not be completely involved with the mind, the mind-made version of reality, or the “me” aspect of self).
This foundation is entered into when a person has a true understanding of meditation and is able to meditate and locate his/her own presence; it is developed when a person begins to abide more often in presence (throughout the day) and is able to enter the state at will; this foundation is realized when a person is established in the state of presence and realizes this expansive state of presence-awareness to be his true and natural state, his true identity (and this human self to be a wondrous express of that true self).
